第16个“世界献血者日”——国际学院留学生积极参与献血

​2019年6月14日,第16个“世界献血者日”到来。为了提高学生对定期献血的认识,鼓励学生参与无偿献血、提供安全血液。6月15日,国际学院留学生在我院学生党支部的带领下前往广州天河体育中心,参加由广州市卫生健康委员会和广州市无偿献血工作委员会办公室主办、广州血液中心承办的2019年世界献血者日宣传活动。

在现场活动中,我院印度老师Bernard Jackson上台接受专题访谈。在谈到对献血的看法时,Bernard认为献血是一件好事,他自己在印度献过一次血,感到非常开心,因为自己的血能够挽救生命,同时,他表示自己非常愿意在中国献血,帮助中国的兄弟姐妹们。访谈临近尾声时他用中文喊道:“爱心无国界”,观众席响起热烈掌声。

在献血车内,同学们在相关医护人员的指导下填表、取血,等待献血。当被问到是否害怕即将进行的献血时,他们摇摇头,表示不担心。虽有部分同学面露忐忑,他们依然期待着献血。

舞台上,7名来自国际学院的学生正参与承办方安排的才艺表演。随着音乐的律动,她们为到场的观众献上一支带有印度特色的舞蹈。表演结束后,表演者之一Bharvi Patel也走上了献血车。在接受触电新闻采访时,她表示献血是一次新的体验,想到自己的血能帮助他人,她感觉很好。即使是第一次献血,她没有丝毫恐惧,脸上始终挂着笑容,期待着自己的血能够帮助他人。

献血活动结束后,同学们纷纷表示这次活动很有意义,通过献血帮助他人,甚至是挽救生命,他们希望能够再次参与类似活动。

The 16th World Blood Donor Day falls on June 14th, 2019. In order to improve students’ realization of the necessity of regular blood donation, encourage them to participate in unpaid blood donation to provide safe blood, Bernard Jackson, a teacher in International School, led 16 foreign students to Tianhe Sports Center to participate in an activity held by Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission andOffice of Guangzhou Blood Donation Work Committee on June 15th.

Bernard was interviewed on the stage with several representatives of blood donors. He considered blood donation as a good thing. He once donated blood in India and he felt very happy as it could save lives. He also said he was willing to donate blood in China tohelp Chinese friends. At the end of the interview, he shouted, “Ai Xin Wu Guo Jie (love without boundaries)” andreceived warm applause from the audience. During the on-site blood donation, Bernard showed no fear. He was happy and hoped his blood could help Chinese people.

On the blood collection vehicle, students filled in forms under the guidance of medical staff and waited to be drawn blood. Most students shook their heads to show they weren’t afraid of blood pick-up when asked whether they were afraid. Though some students looked uneasy, they expected to donate blood.

On the stage, seven girls performed Indian dance as a talent show in the activity. After the performance, Bharvi Patel, one of the girls, entered the vehicle todonateblood. When interviewed byI Touch TV, she said she felt good to experience blood donation and help others. Though it’s her first time to donate blood, she showed no fear. She said she expected her blood could help others.

After the activity, students said it was a meaningful experience as they could help others and even save lives. They look forward to similar activities.
