本课程为国际学院全英临床医学专业新生开设。拟将深化和扩展学生普通化学和无机化学的基础概念和基础知识，主要包括有效数字，简单无机化合物的英文命名，原子的量子理论，电子结构，分子的几何形状，主族金属元素和非金属元素的化学反应，过渡元素和配位化合物，和核化学。
学生必须来上课，缺课超30% 者将不能参加期末考试从而挂科。每章均将布置作业，作业在上完相关课程的次周上交。学生应该上课以前和之后认真阅读课本和参考书上相关的内容。
