【研究方向】

中药/天然药物、合成生物学、化学生物学、生物信息学、基因工程、酶工程、组学以及植物细胞培养。

在国际上首次阐明了鼠尾草酸、檀香醇、蓖麻烯型二萜等重要中药药效物质的生源途径中的关键步骤，并建立基于合成生物学技术的生产体系。相关研究结果被天然产物领域顶级杂志Nat. Prod. Rep.遴选为热点报道，并且获得生物技术领域顶级杂志Trends Biotechnol.的重点评述。在JACS.、Annu. Rev. Plant Biol.、Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.、PNAS.、Plant Cell等SCI期刊发表论文40余篇。申请美国专利、欧洲专利等数项，授权2项。
