Teaching Objectives:

This course is a fundamental methodology course in social sciences, aimed at teaching students the basic theories, ideas, procedures, and frameworks of social science research, and enabling them to understand what research is. The focus of this course will be on quantitative empirical research methods such as survey and experimental methods, supplemented by knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and SPSS software applications.

In addition to teaching, another focus of this course is to enable students to work in groups to conceive, design, conduct research, collect data, analyze, and report on a specific research project. Through hands-on learning, students will gradually acquire the knowledge and skills required for social science research, and be able to apply the spirit and logic of research to other courses in the future.

 

Teaching Requirements:

1. Let students systematically understand basic knowledge of social research methods and statistical analysis.

2. Let students find their own research interest, and try to put it into practice.

3. Let students work as a team to design, operate and report a quantitative research (including data gathering and analysis)
