On March 27, Zong Wa, deputy secretary-general of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), and his delegation visited the International School in Jinan University. Yu Pei, Dean of the International School, Deng Yongzhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the International School, Wang Yong, Vice dean of International School, and Tang Shuze, Chairman of Association of Teachers Lecturing in English (ATLIE) of JNU, met with the guests in Seminar Room 316, the Second Social Science Building. Members of Administration Office, Teaching & Research Management Office, Student Affairs Office in the International School and representatives of teachers lecturing in English accompanied the meeting.

Tang Shuze extended a warm welcome to Zongwa and his delegation, then briefly introduced the the development of International School and the history of ATLIE. He pointed out that since its establishment in 2009, ATLIE, as a communication platform for teachers lecturing in English, has promoted the growth of teachers lecturing in English and the construction of a qualified teacher team.

Afterwards, Zong Wa introduced the aims and responsibilities of CEAIE and the purpose of this visit to the International School. International School has developed well in the past 20 years, he said. He encouraged the International School to further generalize the advanced experience in the construction of English-taught interdisciplinary programs and international teacher team, particularly in the training of international talents, so as to provide inspirations for the internationalization of higher education in the new situation.

Yu Pei also made a report to Zong Wa on the practical problems encountered in the course of running an English-taught school, which offers interdisciplinary programs and accommodates domestic and foreign students. After more than 20 years of development, the International School has built up into an English-taught institution offering undergraduate, master and doctor programs in 6 disciplines, including science, engineering, medicine, arts, economics and management, and covers. The International School will continue to explore the mode of international education in the new situation under the guidance of the orientation of international education pilot demonstration zone.

After the meeting, Zong Wa and his delegation also had a cordial exchange with the staff of the International School and the teacher representatives of ATLIE.
