Economy and Development of Contemporary China

There are many aspects of Chinese economy and its development that should be discussed. Therefore the course contains several modules. The first module should give an overview of China’s economic development and the macroeconomic data. The second module should cover different aspects of the economy and developments in China. The macro aspects include topics such as economic policies, various markets and industrial policies and structures, regional development, income distribution and labor forces, etc. The micro aspects should include topics such as evolution of the different forms of businesses, management and governance of corporations, particular markets such as the financial markets, and particular sectors such as trade and direct invests.And finally the module of review and outlook should leave the students with questions and problems to study and discuss.
