Foreigner Dinner was successfully held in Well Done Cafe near the main campus on 2nd Dec. Foreign students from the different countries had an opportunity to make friends and connecte in this activity, which was organized by Oversea Students Affairs Department.

At first, the hosts introduced the event and showed their warm to welcome the coming foreigners.

Then, the vice president of OSD, Seiji Iwaki, gave a speech about the purpose and history of this event.

“...We get here together for making friends and knowing each others.Talking about the life in China whatever good or bad.” At end of the speech, he showed his gratitude to all the coming guys.

A game, followed by the speech, was called “Speed Dating Game”. People have 3mins to ask the provided awkward questions on the table to the person across them. This game broke the ice and set a delighting atmosphere for tonight’s dinner. The rule was that people must move to the right and change partners to ask the awkward questions again every 3mins.

This game successfully helped them to know more people and to know better about each other than ever. They shared their own stories. No matter the stories were happy or sad, all of them felt pleasant to share the diversification among themselves and spent the time together.

Foreigner dinner was held as Buffet Style this time. It was a useful way to avoid the problem that the foreigners ordered their food in misunerstanding communication with waitresses. Also they could control the amount of food to prevent the wastage of food. All of them enjoyed the wonderful food and night here.

This was the second time for OSD holding Foreigner Dinner. We could easily see the complete flow of this activity. It was a satisfying dinner and the game fit the situation very well. We could see the foreigner smiling brightly all time.

What a wonderful night!
