 INTRODUCTION

Destiny is accepted as a cruel fate, an inescapable foregone conclusion, that cannot be deflected, that will happen irrespective of one’s intentions. I am Satya from 11 MBBS, and I stand in front of you, arguing that destiny is nothing but a manifestation of one’s actions.

Four years ago I came to this university, with a pure heart, and sheer hardheadedness to realize my dream of becoming a doctor. Nobody told me what was going to happen, nobody warned me about what lay ahead of me, and so I looked into the abyss, and put my best foot forward.

STUDY

I took every opportunity I was presented; I took every chance to make a mark. And I did make a mark. In the past four years, I have made my education by holy grail, like a priest I have worshipped my books, and that has resulted in achieving the highest average GPA in the whole international school.

 ACTIVITIES

I participated in the various competitions for sports including football, volleyball, dodge ball, and athletics. This participation made sure that my healthy mind gets an adequately healthy body. But my aim was not just limited to participation; I wanted to prove that I could win.

CHINESE CULTURE

Another important facet of my time in Jinan has involved accepting the Chinese culture and being a good ambassador of my own culture. I have preformed the dragon dance in the Chinese Corner, the Sports meet of Jinan University, and I put my heart and soul into the dragon dance and finally won the first prize in the Guangdong province when we performed in the South China University of Technology.

 SCHOLARSHIPS

I would like to say that the Jinan University has been kind enough to bestow upon me various scholarships and awards, and I have always done my utmost best to justify each one of them. From the first year I was awarded by the university scholarship and outstanding leadership award in my first year, second, third year Guangdong Government Scholarship and 4th year Outstanding Student Scholarship in which only two students were awarded from International School.

CONCLUSION

As William Shakespeare said, ”It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” I stand here in front of you, and make a case, as to why I should win this award, and I want to say, that it wasn’t my destiny that brought me here, but my hard work.
