Green Conversion Project Wins Award
The “Green Conversion” project developed in Jinan University’s International School has won the award for Excellent Entrepreneurship Project in the Ministry of Education’s 8th National Conference of Undergraduate on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
The conference, held at Harbin Institute of Technology Sept. 19 and 20, honored the project, led by two members of the Class of 2013: Du Wei, a Food Quality and Safety major, and Chen Lin, an Accounting (CGA) major. “Green Conversion” connected farm owners, biological companies and a local government bureau to transform food waste into organic fertilizer through earthworm composting technology.
Jinan presented five projects at the conference, the highest level of the National Conference of Undergraduate on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Universities in China, Macau and Russia – 491 of them from China alone – presented a total of 180 papers and 195 projects selected from 1,633 submissions.
After the conference, Jinan University honored the International School as one of its outstanding schools for its excellent work in management and organization of undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship.
