On the afternoon of November 20^th 2014 the annual school sports meeting was held in the Xuri playground. In addition to the sports teams from every college, many school leaders were present for the inauguration and it also attracted a lot of spectators.

The inauguration was presided by the leaders of the university. After the public speech delivered by them, two representatives from athletics and judges took the oath in solemnly swearing to stick to the sports principles of “fair, justice and being open”, making every effort to serve everyone for one successful sporting meeting. As the leaders’ said, the events are conducted not only to strengthen people’s physique, but also hope to be able to raise a spirit of solidarity and promote friendship for everyone, besides, sincerely to wish every player can obtain ideal results.

    Later, with all audiences standing and the anthem, the national flag guard raised the flag slowly under the sunshine. Then, the sports meeting officially opened with applause from the people. The first performance was the performance of the cheerleading team from International School. Needless to say their uniform firstly attracted the attention of everyone. And with the exciting music, flexible skill, dazzling dance, they lit the whole atmosphere up quickly. Apart from this, the traditional dragon and lion dance made a great effect. Festival “lions" went into the court, up and down freely, and performed so lively; then two “dragons” rushed quickly, under the wave of the performers, flying in the playground, as if they were alive. 

The Opening ceremony was drawing to an end and slowly people exited the ground. However it was the beginning of the youthful display of strength, stamina and endurance. All efforts of practice and vitality put in by the participators to showcase their talent has sent in forth and the university awaits to crown the winners and also honor the participators of all the events in place. This is the time of Jinan University to recognize and honor the people of athletic talent. It is no doubt that the opening ceremony carried with full of hope and passion for all who stepped forth and all who are always there to spectate and encourage the players.
