Chinese Corner
On November 8th, Chinese Corner was organized by the International School Student Union inside the T1 dormitory building, South Campus. The program began at 10 am.
Chinese Corner – CC as its abbreviated, is a traditional annual activity of IS. This time 8 classes acted as the 8 ministries of the ancient Chinese Culture and enjoyed their booth games and displays. Though it was rainy and cold outside, everyone had fun during the CC and the atmosphere was very good.
At the very beginning of the activity show, the host Organization Department presented a speculative dance. Then after the speech given by Mr. Deng Yongzhong, every class prsented themselves in interesting ways. FIN, PHA, FQS and IET all presented wonderful dramas of Chinese culture. IJ, CST and CM danced and sang songs perfectly. CPA played an attractive historic fashion show. All the audience cheered up and applauded loudly and excitedly. The whole performance left us with a deep impression.
Just by the same time, 8 booths were crowded with people. The ministry of penalty---PHA designed a special punishment named “Feeling like in fire”, the participants needed to eat mustard biscuits during the game. The personnel ministry—IET had an earth-bag game and a lottery draw at their booth. The military ministry—CPA let visitors enjoy physical exercise by stabbing balloons. The rites ministry—CST provided people with delicious dumplings and fruit salad. The works ministry—FQS prepared riddles for us to guess. The revenue ministry—IJ had games which needed both thoughts and bodies. The imperial kitchen—CM used a traditional part of Chinese cross talk as their activity, which was called “Reporting the dish names”. The imperial hospital—FIN set some games which was relevant to medicine as well. Each booth had their own characteristics, and we could see both teachers and students laughing and shouting when they fell in love with the joyful way of studying Chinese traditional culture.
In addition, it was the first time that CC was held in the new south campus. It was beautiful and intricate. All the participants got together and tried their best to show themselves as far as possible to give unforgettable memories to all the freshmen. And the most meaningful thing is that Chinese culture knowledge had again been strengthened in everyone’s heart.
The three-hour activity quickly came to a close. Finally, CPA got the first place and became the most popular booth. IS Congratulates the winners heartily!
