Graduation Season 2014
On December 21st, Jinan University International School graduating students gathered together at the South Gate to take graduation photos. The Dean and many teachers also took part in the ceremony.
It was a sunny day and the weather was very good. The smiling students all wore beautiful graduation robes. For them, there was no doubt that the day was special and unique, as they knew they would leave university in a few months and, as their university life would soon be over, they particularly cherished the time. Meanwhile, the photographers worked hard, trying to ensure the photographs were perfect.
The ceremony was divided into three parts. In the first part, the students, together with the leaders, took photos; these were the serious photos. In the second part, the students took photos together with their classmates. At this time, many students held flowers and diplomas. The last part was the most exciting part in that the students took photos freely, which meant that they could do different kinds of poses and they could take photos with the friends they liked or their families. This process was a little crazy.
Apart from the organized photo-taking, students were also exchanging gifts or playing jokes on each other. The funniest thing I saw was that a brave boy took advantage of this opportunity to show his love to the girl he loved.
What is more, we interviewed several school seniors in different majors about their views on their days at university. They said that during the past few years in the International School they made so many friends who came from Hong Kong, Taiwan and abroad. They learned together, played together, and shared happiness and sorrow together. At the end, they told us we should cherish our time in university, and try to remember every minute, every little thing, because these would be some of the best memories of our lives.
Graduation season means that the most precious time of youth has come to an end. What we face in the future will be more complex. We should learn to be stronger, because we have graduated; we have grown up!
