On 25th October of 2014, the Volunteer Team of International School visited the Qiao dong Language Centre which is a special education school for the children who have hearing impairment. The volunteers taught these special children about completion of home works and about pronunciation.
Qiao dong Language Centre, which was found by the Chinese Disability Association, is a language center to share love and hope with the disabled children since May of 1995.

The volunteer team was warmly welcomed by the little children at their arrival. Although they seemed very sleepy, they ran towards the volunteers with lots of love! Everyone came forward to play with the volunteers.
On the second floor, there were children studying in primary school or secondary 1. Since they could not hear all of them wore audiphones.
A grade 4 boy helped with chairs for the volunteer to sit when the volunteers had arrived. All volunteers got ready to start off with duty arriving at the center. They taught the children in 1-on-1 basis. They used the card given by the teacher to do the math.
During the lessons, there were many funny stories. Checking Chinese idiom, ‘Fruitless’, the child pronounced the word incorrectly. Then the volunteer acted like a rabbit whose pronunciation was the same as one of the word in the idiom.

Volunteers helped children do homework

Most of volunteers thought the children co-operated well with them well. “I taught the little man was smart” said one of the volunteer. “Once the child wanted to let me write down the answer in order to answer it correctly, but I told him not to do it. In the end, he did not do it.” Some of the children were shy and passive. After the support provided by volunteers, they had the confidence.

Every child liked playing. While taking a break, volunteers played, danced, drew with the children.

After this event, volunteers found the passion in their lives and took the duty in the community. ‘We can make the others to have a heart of gold. Though charity cannot changes a whole world suddenly, we can build a better world soon.
