After a long wait which included the countless resume selections, a number of well-prepared interviews, several establishments of understandings and communications, the new members for various departments of the Student Union of International School were finally elected which formed a wonderful dedicated ‘Students Union family, 2014’. On 12^th October around 10 am, the new and old members of the students union presented themselves perfectly on with suited dresses for the inaugural ceremony of the International Student Union.

The Inaugural ceremony was presided by the dignitaries of International School- Professor Deng Yongzhong, party secretary of International school, Mr. Liu Ming, Deputy Secretary of International school, Staff of Students affairs office – Mr David He, Ms Eva Sun and Mr Andy. The presence of the dignitaries portrayed the importance the school has for the formation of the students union.

Professor Deng Yongzhong delivered his speech expressing his best wishes for the new term, for the new leaders and also the core members of the departments who have the major responsibility of fulfilling the faith of the international school and executing the responsibilities of organising wonderful programs. He concluded his brief speech by wishing the new union by expecting the future of the student union to be bright with their combined efforts.

As the Advisor of ISLCSU, Mr.Andy He gave a strong and powerful speech. He ignited the atmosphere of the ceremony with cheering and encouraged words which was successful in reaching out to all gathered for the ceremony. He explained the importance, hope and dream that the union holds and gave everyone the motivation to accomplish the dreams by the honour of being part of this remarkable union.

This was followed by the speech of the president of the student union, Chen Mofan.

His speech was inspiring with good promises for the future, expressed his expectations and thanked everyone for being cooperative to form the new student union. He conveyed his wishes to all the members of the union, and expressed his hopes for the new members to grab every opportunity and enrich their personalities.

The first vice secretary and vice president, Lin Anxi shared her thoughts following the president’s speech. She believed that it was fate for all the members to come together and informed everyone if we want to achieve our dreams, we should first handle the little things around us and thereby helped all to prepare themselves for the betterment of the students in the school.

Finally the old and new members walked up to the stage and graciously accepted the letter of the appointment given by the dignitaries and captured the memories by taking pictures. The bright and exciting smile extended well on everyone's faces, showing their confidence, their enthusiasm and strength to deliver good works.

The new leaders and members shared their thoughts and hopes. All new members looked strong and expressed their love for the department clearly with a tinge of humour to lighten everyone’s spirits. Though the ceremony lasted only for two hours the promise it held were memorable and one to look forward to for this academic year 2014-2015 in the International school.
