After ten days’ competition, which began on November, 26th , 2012, the ninth International School Volleyball Cup competition finished on November 13th. MIXED CGA were the champions, with 11IET placing second and 10CGA third.
Before the competition began, each team prepared well by practicing hard, as they knew that it was not only a volleyball competition, but also represented the teamwork of the whole major. All of them made up their minds to fight for their major’s honor.
The competition was divided into two phases. In the first phase, each team competed with other teams in groups for a chance to get into the finals. Only one team from each group could progress to the finals even if more than one team from a group qualified. The eight competing teams: 09CM, 12CM, 10CGA, MIXED CGA, 09FNC, 10FNC, 10FQS and 11IET, were divided into 3 groups. Group A was made up of MIXED CGA, 09FNC, and 10FQS; Group B was made up of 11IET, 10FNC, and 12CM; and Group C was made up of 10CGA and 09CM. After two days of exciting and stirring games, the winners of each group were MIXED CGA, 11IET, 10CGA.
In the following days, these three teams competed with each other. Since MIXED CGA beat both 11IET and 10CGA, they won championship. On November 13th, 11IET and 10CGA fought for the second and third prize. They both attached great importance to the last game and treated it seriously. During the game, both of them played hard. However, the strength of 11IET was obviously superior to that of the 10CGA team. Moreover, 10CGA had lost too many points through their own mistakes. Finally 11IET won the competition and achieved second place. 10CGA was the second runner-up.
