On 10th November, 2012, the annual Chinese Corner was held at the Jinling Square by Department of Organization Affairs of the Student Union of the International School.

At 8 am, students from different majors of the International School gathered at Jinling Squire preparing their booths of different themes. Different majors were responsible for different topics, for example, Computer and Science and Technology (CST) prepared Chinese Traditional Food. Other topics about Chinese culture were available as well, such as Chinese Traditional Trades, Chinese Traditional Entertainment, FQS—Chinese traditional costumes, Chinese traditional art and Chinese traditional architecture, Chinese marriage style, and so on.

About two hours later, every booth had been set up and well decorated. With everything prepared, the two hosts announced the beginning of the Chinese Corner and welcomed the coming of the leaders of the International School. At the start of the exciting music--Gangnam Style, a group of students from the International School performed the dance enthusiastically, which heated up the atmosphere of the scene. Everybody present, together in front of the stage, enjoyed the show and showed their appreciation with enthusiastic applause and shouting.

Next, each major performed for the audience; all performances were very impressive as well. For example, you could watch a drama by the CM students to get some knowledge of how ancient Chinese got married, and there were a few unique dances performed by students from other majors. At the same time, many passers-by also came to the booths to attend a variety of interesting games such as riddle-guessing, drawing pictures and so on. Some people got rewards by winning these games, which made them happy.  Each major hoped that this happiness would result in votes for them.

At 13:30, the activity came to a climax because that was the very moment when the hosts announced the winner of the day. Eventually, FNC, CGA, and IET won the top three prizes.    Unexpectedly, there was also a bonus prize provided by the Student Union to a lucky student. Through this activity we not only got more knowledge of Chinese traditional culture but also enjoyed ourselves; 2012 Chinese Corner was absolutely acknowledged as a wonderful success.
