International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of women’s right.

IS Labor Union organized all female staff members and teachers to roam in the rain for feeling the spring and relaxation.

Information of International Women’s Day (IWD):

International Women’s Day was originally known as “International Working Women’s Day” which was first started by the Socialist Party of America in the US in 1909.

Officially the first celebration of Women’s Day occurred on March 19th in 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. This followed a 1910 decision to adopt Clara Zetkin’s motion to observe an International Women’s Day at the second international conference of working women held in Copenhagen.

In China, following the founding of new China on October 1st, 1949 the state council proclaimed that March 8th would be made an official holiday with women in China given a half-day off.

International Women’s Day has grown to become a global day of recognition and celebration across developed and developing countries alike. Women’s organizations and governments around the world have also observed IWD annually on March 8th by holding large-scale events that honor women’s advancement.
