Enjoy myself and to Be What I Am--an interview with Zhang Jindong

Nowadays in our campus, Jinan FM is well-known and used extensively. In this issue, we interview Zhang Jindong, one of the founders of Jinan FM.
Zhang majors in Computer Science and Technology (CST) at the International School, and he mentions that he first developed his interest in computers when he was in primary school that. At that time, he could only repair broken computers as well as reinstalling systems. Furthermore, to enrich his knowledge of computers, he learned something about programming and then made every endeavor to practice it, which actually contributed to his success. As an excellent programmer, he has just participated in a competition about computer programs. He said, “I think these competitions are different from what I thought they were like before and I just absorbed myself in what I am interested in. I really enjoyed myself by learning programs and I feel a sense of satisfaction when I attempted adapting it to practice.”
When it comes to his view about becoming a programmer, Zhang told us since technology continues to develop rapidly, there is great competition in this field and there is no doubt that those elder programmers might be phased out by the new generation. He also mentioned that students in our International School have an advantage as they learn programs in English. However, the majority who want to work for Chinese companies should develop themselves further and also learn from some Chinese books. In addition, it is important to practice as much as possible.
When asked the idea about Jinan FM, Zhang referred to Jiang Han, one of his partners and the monitor of 11CST. ”He is really excellent enough to get 4.03 GPA.” Zhang said.” As Jiang Han had not learned anything about programming until he came to university, we complement with each other. There is no doubt that Jiang Han is good at English reading and. as a result, he always helps me with it.”
As a professional programmer, Zhang has made great achievements. Besides Jinan FM, he also helped the Student Association Union make its orientation checklist. “It took me three days to complete it. You can’t imagine the sense of fulfillment I felt when I finished my task.”
It is the interest of computers that motivates Zhang Jindong to devote himself to programming. Go ahead, follow whatever it is that excites and interests you. Just enjoy yourself.
