On May 4th, English Evening for the International School, sponsored by SPD Bank, was successfully held in the auditorium of the Management School, where the audience enjoyed an unforgettable night.
The theme of this year’s English Evening was “Time”, and a variety of performances with diverse formats and contents were shown on the stage to illustrate the theme . All the performances, either inspiring, humorous or moving, were so excellent and attractive that the audience fully enjoyed themselves, clapping and cheering excitedly.
At 7:00 pm, everything was ready and at around 7:20, the opening performance “Mixing”by the International School Cheerleaders was the prelude to this wonderful event. The first performance, given by students from FQS, recalled our memory of Steve Jobs by showing his life story. After that, students from FNC, with a show named “The Voice of 2001”, aroused the sympathy of the audience for people suffering from wars, poverty and natural disasters. At the end of the program, several girls carrying white candles came onto the stage, followed by all the actors and actresses. Hand in hand, they sang the song “Heal The World” together.The lyrics were so infectious that the audience was greatly moved.
Next was a show by JNU CREW. All the members, both boys and girls danced with enormous energy and enthusiasm,which brought the night to its first climax.The last program by MBBS students, the plot of which was based on the famous Indian movie Three idiots,conveyed in its show a call for the reform of the current education system.
Just as Cheng Pinxing, the Secretary of the Youth League Committee of Jinan University, said after the show, not only was the English Evening filled with magnificent performances that were creative and original, but also it was typical of the combined culture of the International School, which should be encouraged and developed further.
It is the participants that contributed to the final success of this delightful night! It was your joint effort and teamwork that made the audience joyful and made the night meaningful. Thank you!
