On November 22th, 2012, the long-awaited opening ceremony of the 39th sports meeting of Jinan University was successfully held in Xuri Sports Ground. It began with a parade of all the teams representing different schools, with the International School team providing one of the highlights of the march-past.
The ceremony started at 2:00 pm and lasted for several hours. There was no doubt that both the teachers and students attached great importance to the sports meeting. In an exciting atmosphere, the students from different schools standing in the square were ready to march into the arena. From their smiling faces, it was not difficult to see they had high expectations.
Two announcers gave a brief introduction as every team passed by. When the International School team passed the platform as the 11th team, many students on the stands shouted and cheered. The students from the International School were in five colors, red, green, blue, yellow and black, standing for America, Oceania, Europe, Asia and Africa in sequence. In spite of the fact that they come from all over the world and had different skin colors, they all have the same dream. Then they danced to the popular song “Gangnam Style” with a Lala ball in hand, showing their passion and vitality. Next，the cheering squad danced passionately to two songs, “The Boys” and “O” from Girls’ Generation. The performance showed that students from the International School pay close attention to the constantly changing society and are in synch with the high pace of this fascinating world.
In the end, they shouted out their slogan, “JNU IS, best of the best”. Just as the slogan suggested, they would try their best and become the best.
