Course Objectives & Requirements:
Organic chemistry is a basic course of pharmacy students and a branch of chemistry. Inorganic chemistry and analytic chemistry are the prerequisite courses. Lecture assisted with multimedia computer is applied. In this course, students will learn the theoretical and experimental knowledge systematically and completely, and grasp the basic knowledge and experimental skills. This course aims to cultivate students preliminary abilities of analyzing and solving problems, and set up students theoretical and experimental foundations in future scientific and technical research works, or advanced learning.
Course Contents:
1. Nomenclature, structure formulas, constitutional isomers, conformations and stereo-isomers of organic compounds.
2. Analyzing the relationship of structure and properties with structure theory of organic compounds, understand the characteristics of functional groups to grasp the conversion ways of functional groups.
3. Grasp representative organic reactions such as substitution, addition, elimination and redox reactions, learn their relative knowledge. Understand the knowledge of biochemistry, natural organic compounds in organic chemistry concerned pharmacy.
4. Learn the basic mechanisms of organic reactions, find the same characteristics and principles of different organic reactions, and understand the knowledge deeply via cross-reference of the learning contents.
5. Learn the general method to study and identify organic compounds, understand different kinds of organic compounds and their applications, and learn how to deduce the structure of organic compounds by experimental results.
