Objectives and Requirement:

China has made a huge progress in foreign trade since establishing PRC, especially Chinese reform and opening that began in the late 1970s. Foreign trade plays a significant role in economical growth and society development of China. This course exams the situation, theories, policies and strategies of foreign trade of China. We analyze the situation of foreign trade since establishing PRC, especially Chinese reform and opening that began in the late 1970s, the role of foreign trade in the growth of Chinese economy, comparative advantage of foreign trade in China, inter-industry trade of China. We investigate the cause of continuing trade surplus of China, study development strategies for foreign trade of China and explore how to ensure sustainable development of foreign trade in China. After the study of the course, students are expected to gain a solid grasp not only of the situation of Chinese foreign trade, but also of theories, policies and strategies of foreign trade in China in general.
