2024年3月22日，国际学院党委书记闫昕在番禺校区为学院师生上了题为“坚持教育、科技、人才‘三位一体’，推进教育高质量发展”的思政第一课，聚焦理论热点和实践发展难点，启迪了师生对教育深层次的认知，涵养了学生学以致用的家国情怀。
闫昕以党的二十大报告中教育、科技、人才三者为轴线，通过历史视角、国际视角、数字视角，阐释了教育、科技、人才在全面建设社会主义现代化国家中的基础性、战略性地位。闫昕强调，科技是第一生产力，人才是第一资源，教育是培养人才的第一环节；教育培养人才，人才推动科技发展，科技发展又促进教育创新和提高教育质量，形成良性循环。
闫昕从教育、科技、人才的国家战略需求出发，以历史经验、使命需要等方面强调将教育、科技、人才三位一体进行统筹、协调、推进，塑造新动能，发展新优势，形成推动发展的“倍增效应”。闫昕用一系列数据展示了我国近年来在教育、科技、人才三方面取得的重大成就，展示了我国坚持科教兴国战略、人才强国战略和创新驱动发展战略不动摇的成果，引发了师生在推进学院高质量发展的深层次思考。
闫昕说道，当代青年生逢其时，施展才干的舞台无比广阔，实现梦想的前景无比光明。他希望同学们能够胸怀远大志向，脚踏实地，努力学习，持续奋斗，为学院争光、为学校添彩，为全面建设社会主义现代化国家作出贡献！
On March 22, 2024, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the International School, Dr. Yan Xin gave a lecture titled Adhering to the Trinity of Education, Technology, and Talents to Promote High-Quality Development of Education to students and teachers in N433 of the Teaching Building in Panyu Campus.
Yan Xin explained the relationship between education, technology, and talent. Education cultivates talents, talents promote technological development, and technological development promotes educational innovation as well as improves educational quality, thus forming a virtuous cycle. He emphasized the importance of coordinating and advancing the trinity of education, technology, and talents based on historical experience and mission needs. Yan Xin used a series of data to show the major achievements China had made in education, technology, and talent in recent years. The world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century. So, we must adhere to the strategies of rejuvenating the country through science and education, strengthening the country through talent, and innovation-driven development.
At the end of the lecture, Yan Xin hoped that all the students would have lofty aspirations, cultivate firm perseverance, be down-to-earth, study hard, and continue to struggle. So they could bring glory to the International School, to Jinan University, and make contributions to the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country！
