Student Associations in JNU

There are currently 43 student associations In Jinan University. They are run by students, and organize different kinds of activities from time to time, making the extra curriculum interesting and exciting. The following associations are some of the most popular ones that are worth highlighting.
Career Development Association
Career Development Association was established with the guidance of Student Career Centre of the university. It arouses students’ early awareness of employment and shares the theoretical and practical knowledge of career planning through a series of activities in various forms. It helps students not only better understand themselves and the society, but also improve their employability and competitiveness. It has been playing an important role in students’ employment.
Association of Environment Protection and Energy Saving
Environmental Protection and Energy Saving Association was founded by some students who were concerned about environmental issues. As its name suggests, it strives to involve as many students as possible in caring for our mother planet and valuing and making full use of resources and energy. They also popularize the knowledge of environmental protection and energy saving. Starting with the daily life in campus, they are calling for action of every responsible citizens.
Cycling Association
Cycling Association has a long history. In July, 1984, five students from Jinan University rode bicycles from Guangzhou to Beijing. They advocated the importance of respect for teachers and called for establishing Teacher’s Day in China during their journey. They crossed five provinces and finally arrived in Beijing where they submitted the proposal to the Letters and Visits Office of the National People's Congress They have played an active role in establishing Teacher’s Day in the following year.
Student Stage Work Team
Student Stage Work Team was founded in 1988. It provides stage design, lighting, audio and video and other services for performances of Jinan University. Their motto is vigor and resolution, solidarity and excellence.
In addition, there are other popular associations such as Skyland, X-game Association, TG-Skate Association, Table-tennis Association, and Guitar Association and so on. If you are interested in any of them, you can join in freely.
