On September 16th, 9:30 in the morning, JNU Enactus team gathered nearly a hundred freshmen and about a dozen volunteer team leaders and started the Guangzhou City Tour.
About ten o’clock we arrived at the Flower City Square. Then all the freshmen took a group shot with the new landmark of Guangzhou — the Canton Tower.
Later, students were divided into 9 groups and each team took a creative photo in front of the Canton Tower. With the team leader’s help, members shared their ideas and started to slowly getting familiar with each other during the process.
Then we went to the guangdong Provincial Museum. In the museum, students admired all the sophisticated antiques, and had a better understanding of Guangzhou’s history and art.
After finishing the tour in the museum, we took the bus to the Huangpu Harbor. We made a reservation at a traditional Cantonese restaurant, so that students can taste some delicious Cantonese dish.
After lunch, we prepared two interesting games. The first one is called chicken, rooster and phoenix which requires a vivid mimic. Freshmen tried so hard to win to escape from the final punishment. The winners quickly ran to the winners’ area and cheered for their team members.
Then the next game is called ‘what are you doing? What are you saying?’ This game requires a strong team work and ability to express through body language. Some teams could work out words really fast, but some just couldn’t get the meaning and was punished.
These two little games made the team members grow familiar with others. And then they start to explore the Huangpu Harbor as a team and finish some small tasks like find out where this picture was taken. One team eventually found all the spots and won a surprise price.
And some other groups also made creative videos.
About five o’clock in the afternoon, all of the freshmen and the volunteers took another group shot as a prefect ending of this Guangzhou City Tour. After students went back to their campuses, we interviewed some students and volunteers about their thoughts of this activity.
The Guangzhou city tour is an interesting trip to take; the directors from IS led the program smoothly and helped the freshman group to discover the unique aspects of Guangzhou. I personally have learnt more about the Guangzhou's history and the city itself. I would recommend this tour to the newcomers of next year.

I’m really glad that I took part in the Guangzhou City Tour. JUN Enactus organized this tour really well and activities are interesting. I made more friends here and I can bland in my new school well thanks to this tour. At the mean time, by wondering in the Guangdong Provincial Museum I know more about Lingnan culture.
Another student form CPA said: “I was really looking forward to take part in this trip with my fellow students. My favorite part is going to the restaurant to have lunch. Sitting around a small table, everyone was chatting and having a nice time even though we came from different city. After that our team tried some delicious food and viewed beautiful spots.

As one of the freshman volunteers, this is my first volunteer program after entering International School. The process from the first meeting to actually executing our plan is challenging yet interesting. I made a lot of friends and met many seniors, who taught me a lot. Although we had some situations on that day, we managed to pull the trip out. It is worth it just to see the tour successfully finished despite of all the difficulties.

As a senior, this is the first time that I organize this kind of big event. It’s very exciting to see ‘three generations’ of International School participated in one activity. Finally, our JNU Enactus appreciate freshmen’s cooperation and participation. Wish every freshmen will start a perfect college life!
