Topics on Chinese Films, Arts and Music

The course aims to provide a comprehensive insight into Chinese art by offering a breadth of related topics. Specific topic areas that will be covered include: Chinese Film production, Chinese painting, calligraphy and Chinese music. In every session, students will be introduced to the fundamental historical development, representative artworks and essential artists. The course is designed not only to offer basic knowledge of Chinese art but also to inspire students to take in-depth look into Chinese cultural traditions, as well as to interpret issues concerning the contemporary Chinese art. Both sensitive experience and critical thinking are encouraged throughout the course.
