With great expectations, a peer sharing session on Communicative Learning Methods was held at the balcony of the 3rd floor in the school building on October 31th. The program began at 7 pm. The guests were Jin Yimei and Ming Weijie.
The program initiated with Jin Yimei, the vice-monitor of 2010 CM class sharing her experience. Firstly, she introduced awards and honor she had gained by taking part in many competitions. She then shared her experiences of doing research with her mentor. When it began, there were almost everything that was challenging her, but the patience and enthusiasm made her way to be better and better each time. She advised that everyone shouldn’t be eager for quick success and instant benefits. She also gave all few useful suggestions, such as, to read more documents on information, to think questions more frequently, to learn more technologies and to do more experiments. She concluded her sharing with a beautiful quote: if destiny gives you a lower starting point, it means to make your life more wonderful at a higher altitude.
Following Jin Yimei, Ming Weijie, the head teacher of 2014 CM class gave a great speech. The topic he discussed was, ‘is the medicine a science or art?’ By showing some thoughtful pictures which contained the significance of medicine and medical treatment, he told that medicine was a science and an art. Next, he let the attenders to pretend that they were patients lying on the operating table when the doctor would have a vital operation to operate on them. Then he asked, “How are you feeling?” By such ethics he explained that medical treatment was both a science and art, the patients need not know only about doctors’ medical skills but also their care and concern.
Without notice time had been slipping and the day’s peer sharing was slowly coming to a close. From Yimei and Werjie’s great speeches, all attenders gained a lot of valuable information. It was indeed a insightful night!
