Development Economics
Objectives and Requirements:
The students should understand the general theory and the theoretic structure of Development Economics. The students should realize those factors which influence economic growth. The students should have outlook knowledge of China’s economic development and understand the main challenges that China faces. And also, the students can make basic judgment, analysis and evaluation on economic growth and development by themselves after this course.
Contents:
The main contents are as followings:
(1) the general theory of Development Economics and theories of economic growth;
(2) the factor which influence economic growth and its empirical analyses;
(3) the development strategies and the theory of sustainable development;
(4) the economic practices in developing countries.
This course will pay much attention to economic growth in China, and also talk about its analyses and evaluation, especially the two delta area: the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta. The challenges that China faces will also be analyzed in this course.
