Dr. Tylor Claggett is a Professor of Finance at the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University which is located near Washington, DC, USA in Salisbury, Maryland.  In addition to his duties as the Director of the Financial Planning track, he teaches Principles of Financial Management, Principles of Economics, Investments, Advanced Corporate Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions plus the Retirement & Estate Planning courses.
He was selected as a Fulbright scholar to China in early 2008.  As a consequence, he made guest lectures at several Chinese universities.
Prior to joining the Perdue School of Business, Dr. Claggett taught at a variety of other universities.  His formal education includes a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA and a Ph.D. with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics from the University of Houston. He earned his CFA® (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter in 1994.
He served three years on active duty with the U.S. Air Force as a test engineer. This was followed by a 17-year U.S. Air Force Reserve career that included multiple assignments in both communications and civil engineering.  Dr. Claggett was employed by the E. I. DuPont Co., Inc. and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA).  His working experiences within DuPont encompassed all aspects (cost control, craft scheduling, etc.) of project engineering within a textile fibers plant.  At TVA, he supervised degreed electrical, mechanical and civil engineers engaged in planning and implementing diverse energy use demonstration projects.  The projects were intended to test market available equipment and/or marketing concepts.
