JNU PhD Supervisor Delegation Visited Partner Universities in Europe
During October 18th to 27th , a PhD supervisor delegation of six from Jinan University (JNU) led by Professor Tang Shuze, Dean of International school paid a visit to University of Rennes 1, University of Strasbourg in France, Freie Universität Berlin, Universität Potsdam in Germany, Wageningen Universiteit and Universiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands.
In the University of Rennes 1, the delegation was warmly received by Professor Pierre van de Wegheand, the Vice President and Professor Pierre H Dixneuf, a world-renowned chemist. Professor Tang, on behalf of the delegation, gave a presentation to introduce the uniqueness of Jinan University and the International School. As there have been six JNU graduate students studied successfully in the University of Rennes 1 in recent years, cooperation enhancement of graduate programs and graduate students exchange was sincerely discussed.
In the University of Strasbourg, the delegation was welcomed by Professor Jacques Liouville who paid a visit to International school in December 2012.
In Freie Universität Berlin, the delegation was hosted by the, Professor Klaus Mühlhahn, Vice President and, Professor Alexander Görke, Dean of Political Science and Professor Klaus Segbers, Director of the Global Political Research Institute.
In the Netherlands, the delegation visited the University of Wageningen Universiteit and Universiteit Utrecht respectively and met students from JNU.
In Amsterdam, the delegation was warmly hosted by Mr. Chen Huazhong, Chairman of Holland Chinese Association, and Ms. Zhang Hongjing, Principle of the Chinese School.
This is the first time for JNU to organize PhD supervisors to visit world famous universities. The chosen PhD supervisors have well cooperated with international universities via student exchange or co-training PhD students in their research fields.
