JNU Summer Program
China Summer Program on Asian Studies at the Jinan University
The International School (IS) of Jinan University (JNU) is pleased to organize a Summer Program for students from our partner universities from various parts of the world. The Program will be held from 24 July – 24 August 2010 on JNU campus.
To spread Chinese culture all over the world and recruit overseas Chinese students from all the continents, Jinan University was originally founded as Jinan Academy in Nanjing in 1906, initiating the education of the overseas-Chinese in China. Thereafter, one after another generation of Jinan people endeavored to carry forward the great mission. The year 1996 saw Jinan University enter the rank of the state’s 100 key universities for the 21st century. Up to now, the university has received a great number of students from 120 countries of five continents as well as three regions of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Currently, there are more than 35,000 students in Jinan University, of which more than 12,000 are from foreign countries and the three regions of HongKong, Macao and Taiwan.
Established in June 2001, the international school holds a strong position as the leading first-preference institution for prospective students starting undergraduate education in English. The international school offers undergraduate degrees across seven programs (includes: International Economics & Trade, Accounting (CGA), Public Administration, Pharmacy, Finance, Food Quality and Safety and Clinical Medicine) completely in English, and provide a truly international learning environment.
It is an excellent opportunity for participants to learn about China, get to experience the culture, interact with locals, and gain insights in China.
Participants will each be awarded a Certificate of Attendance issued by the IS upon completing the Program in China.
The program includes two courses, each with 36 hours of class time, and is equivalent to two credits. The courses will be taught by teachers from JNU in English. University of Cincinnati may request particular courses depending on the interest of their students. Classes are interactive and may include group work, class discussions, and guest lecturers.

* Chinese Traditional Culture * Chinese Business Law
Included in the program are a city tour, several group meals, and social activities.
The minimum group size is 16. Multi-university programs may be available for universities unable to meet the minimum group size.
Duration and Dates
The program runs for 4 weeks during the summer. Dates are determined jointly by the University of Cincinnati and the International School.
Accommodation is located on the university campus providing easy access to classes, libraries, sport facilities and transportation.
Groups are supported by the International School of Jinan University.

The Program fee does not cover airfare and airport taxes, travel insurance, visas and personal expenses.
Payment is via bank draft, and is to be made payable to the “Jinan University”.
Application and selection is made through University of Cincinnati. University of Cincinnati should notify the international school of their interest in the program well in advance so that the accommodation and instructors can be booked.
