Course Objectives, Requirements & Contents:

This is an introductory course about food safety for food quality and safety program students. It covers food safety concepts, hazards, detection and managements.

This course will provide students with an introduction to subject matter within the general areas to be covered through the “Food Quality and Safety” curriculum in the International School at Jinan University.  The course will cover within the broad areas of Basic Concepts, Hazards, Detection, Management, and Control, and the course will also provide the students with the opportunity to engage in two related field trips within Guangdong during the course.

Students will gain an over view of the material within the various areas of specialization in the Food Quality and Safety Curriculum, with an emphasis on the practical application of the course material, as supported by visits to representative research and production facilities in the Guangzhou community.

The main contents include food safety theory, hazards, detection and management.
