Objectives and Requirements:

This credit paper is offered as an elective to qualified students to undertake medical microbiology and further develop the skills they have learned. Understanding the biology of microorganisms has led to some of the most important advancements in medicine, food science and agriculture during our civilization. Students who take this course seriously will be able to comprehend microbiology in its relationship to other biological sciences. The objectives of this course are to help students find a good knowledge in Medical Microbiology , and so build a feeling of confidence and satisfaction, promote expansion of its basic skills, methods etc, related to the student’s major subject and adapt strategies, techniques and lab experiments that will further the above objectives, and that students will , at the end of the course have mastered the basic skills of Microbiology. Students are required to understand the general principles of sterilization, disinfection and other basic methods in Microbiology, understand effects of the physical methods and chemical methods used on food safety and utilize a variety of resources.
