Course Objectives and Requirements

The purpose of this course is to cultivate and increase students’ intelligence consciousness and intelligence literacy. The main contents include general principle and retrieval approaches of literature. It will enable students to master the retrieval strategies and approaches of several important databases related to pharmacy including Sci-finder Scholar, Web of Science, CNKI, etc. It will also enable students to obtain their needed information and literature from all kinds of professional books, journals, conference papers, dissertations, patents, and standard documents dependently. It will bring up students’ abilities to get information, especially from the technology of computer and network literature. The goal is to cultivate students' spirit and ability of autonomous learning, to make the students learn to learn, to cultivate a lifelong learning literacy.

1. Introduction and general knowledge of Literature;

2. Retrieval methods and application for Sci-finder Scholar

3. Retrieval tools of Chinese literature and application of web search engine

4. Retrieval method for Patent.

5. Retrieval methods and applications for bio-informatics database.

6. The management of literature by Endnote and literature review writing.
