Course Objectives, Requirements & Contents:

Corporate Finance Fundamentals [FN1] is a foundation course in managerial finance with an emphasis on the major decisions made by the financial executive of an organization. Topics introduced in FN1 include the following:

• Analysis of the financial environment and its components

• Security valuation

• Capital budgeting

• Cost of capital

• Working capital management

• Strategic decision making

• Financial planning 

The use of a computer has also been integrated into the course. To demonstrate concepts and provide practice in basic financial analysis, computer worksheets using a spreadsheet program are included as part of the course materials.
